Training & New Positions

If you were at the kickoff, you know that we are modifying the Shader position to become two positions, Shader/Asst. Director & Camera 4/Broadcast. Shader/Asst. Director will deal directly with the video director and will be the setup person for all video shots. Camera 4/Broadcast will operate the remote camera and setup all the broadcast feeds. Camera 4 is a great position to transition from camera operator to the control room. If you are interested in any of these positions, please email... Read More

You guys are awesome!

Sat in a class on volunteers yesterday. There were some great ideas that we may use in the future, but I walked away being thankful for my team and how you welcome and invite new folks into the group. I am also thankful for the level of excellence that each of you take when serving on the team. So thanks for all you do and who you are! Read More

Copyright makes my head spin

Does anyone know how incredibly confusing copyright is? Susan Godwin, an expert in copyright & one of the principles of CCS, spoke with the Media Ministers group yesterday and had a wealth of knowledge to share about what can and can't be done. For example: - We can stream with our WorshipCast license, but we can't show lyrics on the live stream or video on demand.  - The license we purchase when we purchase a video is only for the live showing of that video and not for streaming or... What's New @ Panasonic?

Just got done talking with Bill Edwards @ Panasonic. With the amount of cameras, switchers, & projectors that Panasonic has, it was a talk worth listening to. Here are a few of his points: - Tape is dead. Solid state media is here. P2 for pro line equipment, solid state hard drives for computers, and SD cards for consumer & prosumer products.  - Panasonic has acquired Sanyo. New line of projectors coming out should bring the best of both worlds.  - The HPX500 studio camera package... Read More

Planning Center...The Lifeline

The dreaded decline! It happens to me at least once a week. Some poor soul forgets to update their Planning Center calendar and gets scheduled to serve. They then decline (hopefully not on Friday or Saturday). Some admit when pressed that they have no clue that they had a calendar. So to help that, below is a video that gives you details of the many ways you can access your calendar, check your schedule, and sync it with your Facebook account, smartphone calendar, or car (just kidding about the... Stage Manager Makes A Comeback With The House Producer

You will notice this weekend that there are a few changes coming to the house crew. As we have grown and adapted to demands and needs, we have seen that change can be good....and necessary. Lately, it has become apparent that there is a need for someone to handle the needs in the worship center that can't be handled upstairs from video control. That is why, beginning this week, the House Producer will become the point person for all things in the room. All technical positions (minus cameras)... Read More
