BOOMERS MINISTRY

Boomers are: the largest demography in history, born between 1946-1964, ageless explorers, redefining retirement, change the rhythm of aging in America, reinventing themselves through variety of past times, lifelong learners, pioneers of new pathways in life, redefining almost every area of life, desiring to live, learn, and make a significant difference in life, traditionalist living in nontraditional ways, living longer and healthier, not senior adults, "being someone" not "becoming someone," parents, empty-nesters, grandparents, caregivers, retired, finding new jobs, parents of children in college, parents of children at home, redefining the life path of the mature adult for the nation and Church.

Boomers at Broadmoor embrace the idea of redefining "church" for a generation. They desire to worship, grow, serve, and live in ways that are exciting and embrace their new stage of life.

WORSHIP

Boomers enjoy difference ways of worship using the blending of traditional and contemporary elements.

GROW

Boomers are in transitions of life from somewhat controlled to uncharted life stages. These transitions challenge the Boomer to look to the Bible for life answers and direction and to life experiences for advice and counsel on the transitions. Broadmoor is ready to assist through various studies, groups, and learning opportunities to guide the Boomer to pursue God's vision for their life.

  • Equipping Classes  |  These classes give focused study on particular subjects or Biblical topics.

Boomers have an abundance of gifts, abilities, knowledge, hobbies, influence, career experiences, passions, and life experiences poised to make a significant difference in the Church, community, nation, and world. Boomers are encouraged to think about their wealth of experiences, gifts, and talents and ask "How can God use these in His Kingdom?"

LIVE

How do we live out our Christian faith in everyday life? This is the question that Broadmoor is helping Boomers redefine what Church looks like in their life stage.
  • Live and Learn Experiences...building relationships through learning experiences  |  Classes like Grilling 101, Decoration for the Season, Fly Fishing, Gardening, and Art 101 are used to build relationship with other Boomers and teach new skill or talent.
  • Boomer Parties  |  These parties are used to bring the larger group of Boomer together for building relationship and just having fun. Valentines Party, Cruzing on the Rez, and the Pepsi Pops Concert are events that are seasonal parties that capture unique times of social interaction for Boomers.
